Use the Department of Labor’s Abandoned Plan Database to find plans that have been terminated, or search their Form 5500 Database to get contact details for former employers and plan administrators.

Don’t forget to look on Missing Money, a site that lets you search for unclaimed property held by U.S. states - including retirement accounts.
